Delicious, beautiful, exceptionally well written short. Speckled with little, painful, truths and witty humor, "Sweeter Than Roses" is a small study in human behaviour.
Set in the early sixties, this could have been set in any time period, as humans don't change, only their surroundings.
Great writing.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this tale of exploration. Not every story needs to be bump and grind. I got the impression that the author wasn't trying to whip the reader into a lather of carnal lust. Tales, be they either fantacy or fact are like food for the mind, and although chocolate mud cake is really nice, subsisting on only that would get Ohhh so nauseating. As I have heard so many times before, variety is the spice of life. Again thankyou (9/10)

verynice change of pace, however, it would be very diifcult to find 2 ladies in the 60's like this, or not published anyway. I have no issue for problem with lesbians or gays, just meant as a statement for the timr frame tihs is suposed to take place (8/10)

I wonder if you need to be middle-aged to appreciate this one.
I found this tale of non-amorous seduction far more intellectual than exciting.
The plot is completely plausible and the two main characters are as real as any for a story of this length.
The dialogue is really good and even occassionally funny, but a little less conversation and a bit more description might have been better.
If it has a serious flaw, it's too realistic, and therefore a bit dull.

I found this to be an interesting flashback. I have no idea how life was during the 60's, but the characters were well developed to a point that it all was quite believable. The dialogue was fairly well done also. (7/10)
