(Added on Nov 9, 2010) (This month 54088 readers) (Total 59493 readers)
Suki\'s past comes back to haunt her and it threatens John as well as the Libertarian couple\'s relationship. Sunshine, Suki\'s brutal ex-lover from her college days in Tokyo, has been released from a Japanese prison and she intends her first stop to be the USA. Sunshine\'s criminal intent is described in graphic detail to John, the first love of Suki\'s life, as the couple hurries to determine if Sunshine has truly corrupted Suki\'s closest friend, Patricia, in a criminal conspiracy to steal John\'s money through a paternity scheme and force the couple into pregnancy to sell their babies or if some other motive is at play.

I started on "Suki II" just because I wanted to grasp what was written in the synopsys.
Must say that it didn't help much. A good thing the story is much more clear than the introductary summary.
Also, instead of sending us on a wild goose chase, Mr. and Mrs. Tagliaferro could have posted "Suki I" on the Library. Would have been so much more convenient.
As far as the story goes, it is well written with a nice plot and some decent sex-scenes. But I just couldn't get into the style. A style which floats between dead-in-yer-face-serious and almost childlike airheaded prose.
Must be some Anime influences.
Nice story, but nothing more than that.

Thanks for the review and very glad you liked the story.
Will be re-doing the synopsis. After your comment, I don't like it either.
One question about what you wrote:
Which passages were "almost childlike airheaded prose?" If you are referring to the way some of the characters speak, that was by design.
I liked your thought about Anime influence. That was a hat tip to the Sci-Fi fans who enjoy Anime. The extent of my actual Anime knowledge is "Speed Racer" and "Power Puff Girls". There was an Anime conference in my neighborhood the weekend that you commented and I took the opportunity to get pictures of the better outfits and promote the books/blog. In two years of having these blogs I don't remember anything positive I had to say about Anime before, but still glad that I was able to give a bit of that image to the story.
Note to other readers: some of the punctuation is non-standard because of the differences between eBook display and paper. The use of caps instead of italics as emphasis is one example. The "chat-room effect" or "texting effect" that some readers (not on this site) have noted are intentional, to capture my vision of how people will communicate in the 2030s.
The first novel in the 4 book series, "Suki I", was always intended to be commercial. When I decided to turn that story into a series I made "Suki II: Sunshine Returns available" free from several locations and plan to keep it that way. It is also included in "Suki V: The Collection". The rest of this series ("Suki I", "Suki III: Never Let Us End", "Suki IV: Finally A Vacation" And "Suki V: The Collection") are all available on Kindle, Nook and in paperback. If you enjoyed "Suki II" and want to read what happens before or after, I recommend "Suki V: The Collection", which is priced much cheaper on Nook and Kindle than purchasing each individually.
For those with a taste for more brutality, two of the women who assisted me wrote fan fiction stories that are now published on Kindle and Nook: "John and Suki: Vacation Fun" and "Suki: Settling the Score". They are available together in one paperback as "Suki: Fan Fiction" and on Nook by the same title.
I did start a new series with the same characters and an alternate future: "Suki With A Twist: Part One". In that environment, same sex relations are mentioned more than in the original Suki series, with two of the prominent characters in a lesbian marriage. The characters act the same in both series, but they are in a different environment and face different situations. Suki has a different educational background and does not merely work in her mother's office. She works the parties as a companion too. It is not yet available for Nook, only in paperback and Kindle.
Right now, I am working on a completely new series, set in present day: "Nancy and the Boss" (working title, also thinking about "Nancy and Sarah". BDSMlibrary.Com will be the first place to get it. If readers like it I'll certainly continue it.
Thanks again!
JT
