Sweet surrender.
***
Blind Rage by Wildfire8470 is an enjoyable short tale that brings you into the short, intense, and somewhat chaotic personal world view of the main character. Told from first person in past tense mode, the reader is treated to a emotion laden, somewhat aggressive self-destructive streak that ends with a rape and a short lived erotic scene.
***
From a technical view point, the story is well written. The author maintains the main character's perspective and mental state, using short clipped sentences, personal observations, and violence laden vocabulary to bring along the reader and have them sit as a witness to not only the actions but the thoughts of the main character. This is done rather well. From a purely grammatical stance, I'd just like to point out to the author that her punctuation use at the end of quotations is incorrect. "'Well that's good. I'm not from this world.' He said, beginning an old pickup line." is a good example. The end of the quote should be a comma, not a period. This is a common mistake, one I was guilty of for YEARS until my daughter pointed it out one day. Imagine MY embarrassment!
***
There are also tons of good things in this story. While we're all here for the erotica, there is a lot of "mindfuck" going on in this story. Sometimes we have a tendency to focus on the actual "thrust" of the story, the action, the coitus, the climax, rather than the foreplay. In "Blind Rage" the back and forth between the main character "A fucking force of nature" and "cowboy" is beautiful. The subtle undertones of desire and anger, of violence and yielding pressure is absolutely exquisite and demonstrates that a story does not need to have descriptions such as "harder" and "faster" in order to titillate. Admittedly, I think women will enjoy this story more than men, but the author made the tale short enough that I think most men will be able to envy and appreciate the cool strength of "cowboy" and get to the prize at the end.
***
Let me reiterate, this is a rape. The main character is emotionally disturbed, drunk, and is tied and bound at the end. Despite her begging to be screwed, there is no ifs ands or buts about it. Cowboy's probably going to jail for this. But I still like it.
***
Lastly, it's tough to make a good judgement on rating for such a short story. Right now, it was the perfect length. Had it been any longer, the clipped verbage of the main character would have come across as choppy. It would have irritated me and become repetitive. So kudos to the author for knowing when to quit.
***
In summary I think Blind Rage is a beautiful little tale with a lot going for it. The author clearly has the chops to write from perspective and knows her timing well. I'll have to check out her other stories to see if this talent translates.

Michael,
It seems I owe you an apology. I didn't put your name together with the blog until I checked out your link. I've been reading your blog for weeks, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it!

Wildfire,
...
I'm glad you liked the review. I've always felt that had a talented author given me some critical advice earlier in my writing career, I'd have gotten better much sooner. As it is, I'm still not on the higher end of things. I'm glad you are enjoying the blog and website. The Free Story Archive there has quite a bit to keep a person busy between Breanne and myself. I look forward to reading more of your work!

Michael,
I can't thank you enough for your insight, perception, and your amazing review. I also can't believe I made such a glaring grammatical error. (I can edit anyone's work except my own.) It seems that you are a stellar writer and I'll be by to read your works soon! Thanks again.
Sincerely,
~K~

Thank you, Tavy. Your review is very much appreciated. My apologies for taking this long to respond. I looked for your profile but it opens a blank page. Following that I've had PC problems and it was in the shop for some time. When it rains, it pours.
